Speaker 2:Hello, beautiful souls, welcome back to another episode of Amanda's Mindset. I'm your host, amanda Russo, and I am really excited for today's episode because today is a special day Today is my 28th birthday and I wanted to find a way to provide you guys with a podcast episode that was valuable to you, as well as a podcast episode that could reflect on the past year of mindset shifts. I've had the past year of podcasting I've had, so today I'm diving into a topic that has been very transformative for me over the past year my mindset shift. After a year of podcasting, I've experienced significant changes in my thinking, in my perspective and the way I go about and the way I carry myself. After a year of podcasting, I've experienced 28 significant changes in my thinking and in my perspective, and I cannot wait to share these with you. Whether you're a fellow podcast host, an inspiring content creator, or you're just someone looking to grow and evolve your life which, if you're listening to me right now, I know that that is the case I believe these insights will resonate with you and will help you guys up-level your life, your life Now.
Speaker 2:Something I have said over and over and over for the past year is shift your mindset, shift your life. It's even on the back of the shirts, but what the hell does that really mean At the core? What does that mean? When I say shift your mindset, shift your life, I am talking about the impact of our thoughts and beliefs and the effect that they have on our reality. Your mindset is like a lens in which you see the world. It shapes everything from your behaviors, your actions, your decisions, the small things to the big things. How you look at the world will shape how you show up in the world. By consciously choosing to shift your mindset whether it's embracing the positive aspect of a situation, letting go of negative, limiting belief, letting go of negative, limiting belief, or adapting a growth mindset you're not just changing your thoughts. You are transforming your entire life. It's about unlocking new possibilities and stepping into the life and the identity that you want to embody. Hope that helps you understand a little bit about what mindset means to me and why I came up with the catchphrase shift your mindset, shift your life.
Speaker 2:Now I'm going to share with y'all 28 mindset shifts that I have gone through over the past year of podcasting and from my 27th year to my 28th year. One of the biggest shifts I've had is learning to trust my intuition. At the start of this I struggled to recognize if it was my intuition, if it was my overthinking, and how to fully distinguish the two of them. But through speaking with many different guests and going on other podcasts myself, I have truly learned to trust my instinct and how your body often will give you signals of what your intuition is telling you if you pay attention.
Speaker 2:Next mindset shift is the power of your words. Words have incredible power. I have seen firsthand how language shapes us, whether it's something that we say out loud or something that we internally say to ourselves. Choosing your words thoughtfully can uplift, inspire and create a more meaningful life within your own life and more meaningful connection. Next is discovering myself. Podcasting has been a huge journey of self-discovery my personal stories and experiences, speaking with people about their personal stories and experiences and getting very vulnerable and it's led to deeper growth and deeper understanding. And it's honestly so cool to me how voicing your thoughts can help you learn more about who you are at the core.
Speaker 2:Number four mindset shift is uncovering my hidden purpose. Through podcasting, I've discovered aspects of my purpose that I didn't fully recognize before, recognizing that I am meant to be someone that is here to help people get through their shit. I'm someone that has that safe space that people feel comfortable to open up to, and I've uncovered this by so many guests telling me this, by so many guests telling me this. If you're a podcaster, you know this process can help clarify your own mission, your own goals, your own purpose and what you're meant to do. The next thing that I shifted was overcoming societal expectations. Societal expectations can be a huge barrier for us when trying to live our best in own life. I've learned to push past these pressures and focus on what works for me, whether that's from creating content to how I show up in the world, and focusing on what feels true and authentic to me. This shift has been so liberating and focusing on content that resonates with me that I want to share, regardless of what society thinks, and this has been liberating, and this has been really liberating and helped me and Mander's mindset flourish.
Speaker 2:The next mindset shift is embracing imperfection. I have been someone throughout my whole life who has waited to do the thing, whatever the thing was, until it was perfect, until it checked every box. That's also why I struggled with my fitness journey for so long because I wasn't able to check all the boxes, but it was through podcasting and Manu's mindset that I became able to embrace imperfection, embrace starting ugly, as Chris Kramitzos, founder of PodFast, wrote in his book. I've come to realize that mistakes and imperfections are part of the process and part of life. Affections are part of the process and part of life and even in terms of podcasting, they make the podcast more relatable and more real. It's okay if everything is not quote-unquote perfect. What matters is your intention and your authenticity. If you approach something with a positive, well-intended intention, your results will affect that. This mindset shift was balancing passion and professionalism, from finding the balance between what I'm passionate about and professionalism, for what I'm passionate about and professionalism, passion fuels creativity, but professionalism ensures my content is polished and reliable, and this has been key for me finding this balance, not just posting content to post content. I've been a strong believer in that.
Speaker 2:Next is the impact of consistency, and now everybody and anybody will tell you how powerful consistency is. In anything you want to achieve or change in your life, you have to do it consistently, because change doesn't happen from the things you do one twice. Handful of times, consistency has been a game changer, committing to a regular schedule for me and your mindset. Y'all know you can expect your mindset shift every single Monday, some Fridays, but now we're doing it every Friday. This has helped me build trust with you guys Because y'all know every Monday you'll get an episode and it is a reminder to me that consistency often overweighs it. Checking the boxes the next mindset shift I experienced was engaging with my audience, with my connections. Engagement with listeners has been really eye-opening for me and I'm always to engage with y'all more, so stay tuned for that.
Speaker 2:Next is continuous learning. I have learned so much through podcasting. It blows my mind. The learning never stops, whether it's improving my technical skills, mastering new topics, learning how to listen better or evolving content strategies. The willingness and ability to take the time to learn new skills has been crucial for my growth. Next thing is collaborating. Collaborating with others has opened so many new doors for me From working with other guests and other podcasters. It's brought different perspectives to my life, to Amanda's mindset. It's really helped impact how I show up and how you hear Amanda's mindset. Collaboration can really enhance any project, whether it's a podcast or a different project you are working on, and increase its impact.
Speaker 2:The thirteenth mindset shift is reflecting on my growth. Regular reflection on your progress is vital because if you don't know where you are, you can't figure out how to get where you're going. Where you are, you can't figure out how to get where you're going. It's an analogy I heard from one of the guests throughout this past year. But if somebody gives you a map to Canada and you don't know where you are, it doesn't matter that you have that map. You have to understand where you are to understand how to grow and go from here. Next thing I've learned to shift and really embrace is celebrating the small wins. It's so important, whether it's hitting a listener milestone, whether it's a download milestone, a really positive interaction with a guest, anything it may be celebrating it and taking the time to embrace that shift.
Speaker 2:Next mindset shift I experienced was adapting to change. I am someone who, like most of us, have struggled with change and things not flowing completely according to plan. However, it's inevitable being flexible and open to evolving whether that's your content or however you show up in the world this approach has really helped me stay relevant and stay grounded in my own energy, because changes are inevitable. Things will happen, as my goal P says should happen. Maybe it's a technical difficulty. Whatever it may be, learning to adjust and adapt is very powerful.
Speaker 2:The next thing is prioritizing creativity. Creativity needs nurturing. It needs prioritization. Setting aside time to brainstorm, to think and evolve new ideas can keep the content fresh and exciting. Don't be afraid to experience and test different waters and see what works, what doesn't work. The next shift is building resilience. My resilience has been tested so much throughout the year between dealing with so many technical difficulties and different challenges, and these challenges has really strengthened me and taught me to persevere when things get tough.
Speaker 2:As Brett said in his powerful 50th episode about how, when the plan doesn't work or things don't go according to plan, so many people quit. Doesn't work, or things don't go according to plan, so many people quit, but what you could be doing is finding a way, a different way, to the goal. If plan A doesn't work, try plan B. If plan B doesn't work, try plan C and trying different ways.
Speaker 2:The next shift I've worked through is balancing my personal life in my podcast, because maintaining a balance between the two is really important and ensuring that one doesn't overshadow the other helps maintain well-being and prevent burnout. I've learned that there's going to be times when my podcast life needs to come before my personal life and vice versa, and not missing out on either, and finding the balance of the two. That leads me into prioritizing self-care, and that is a non-negotiable for me. Taking time for yourself, physically and mentally, ensures that you bring your best self to the world, to the podcast, to society, and it helps you avoid exhaustion and it helps you avoid exhaustion. Some ways I prioritize self-care is I start my morning mindfully every single day, whether that's with breath work, whether that's with meditation, I start it mindfully. I also start it with movement every single day. So these are just two simple ways that help me prioritize my self-care.
Speaker 2:Next is embracing gratitude. I have so much gratitude for each and every single one of you listening to me right now because I say it all the time but time's the only thing. We don't get back. We can't buy more of it. I have so much gratitude and appreciation for you. Spending this time with me, appreciating the support and opportunities in our lives, really enhances our experiences and enhances the way we look at and show up in the world. Next is setting realistic goals. Setting achievable goals has been very important to me Instead of aiming for perfection, setting realistic and manageable goals to help maintain focus and track progress. Embracing feedbacks and not a taking them critically or getting offended quote unquote by them even though I don't like that word, but whether it's positive or constructive, accepting them and listening to the insight that whoever is providing this feedback has to share with me has really helped me improve my life and the quality of Mando's mindset.
Speaker 2:Next, trust in the process, even when the results are slow, even if you don't have exactly what you want to have. Trusting the process and believing in the value, the work you're doing and staying committed because it will pay off in the long run. But not staying committed it won't pay off because you won't see the end result, which is also why 25th Mindset Shift you gotta have patience. It's a virtue, especially in podcasting. I attended Podcast Movement and one of the things one of the keynote speakers said was about if you're looking for the quick way to get rich, quick way to start a business, podcasting is not it. It's a long game and having patience will really help you navigate the ups and downs of podcasting. Next is seeking inspiration from other sources, whether it's reading or listening to podcast audibles, and finding inspiration that is relevant and relatable to me, to my listeners, my clients and to everybody in the Mander's Mindset community, which also leads me to celebrating the community and building and celebrating community around. Mander's Mindset has been so fulfilling, and connecting with you guys creates a different sense of support that I truly love, and I am in the process of creating new ways for us to have our mindset of community. Speaker 2:Finally, the last mindset shift is enjoying the journey, and that has been the most crucial shift for me. Embracing the process, savoring the milestones and having fun with the experience the whole way through has been so amazing. It's essential to remember that time is fleeting. We're here, then we're not. You can't get time back. You can't buy more of it. Don't rush through the journey. Instead, appreciate each and every moment for the unique opportunity it brings. I have so much gratitude and appreciation for each and every single one of you. I would not be here right now speaking if it wasn't for you guys.
